Well I can honestly say there wasn't anything I didn't like about this book Ophelia London has a big fan on her hands Let me just start by asking what has happened to contemporary romance? I mean if the main characters aren't whipping each other and tying each other to beds they are dealing with horrifying pasts and all other heavy shit I'm not saying that I don't enjoy that from time to time I'm just saying it's getting harder and harder to find a book that is just good clean fun I had a dopey smile on my face the entire time I read this book It is chick lit at its finest The only conflict in the entire book is the just misunderstanding and miscommunication and I LOVED IT I wasn't in tears or having to watch hours of the Office to decompress from a book inspired depression After reading this book I hopped in my car blared some Kelly Clarkson and got a coffee Just enjoyed being a girl and in love with a book It infuses you with happiness I have a hop in my step and if I don't watch myself I might turn into a Disney princess and start singing to birds or some shit We have forgotten what it's like to have a simple love story If we're being honest with ourselves our romances are not going to be like half the stuff out there in the literary world but we could have this And that's what's so refreshing It really is like a breath of fresh air after inhaling smog for months Mac is hilarious and so honest Rick is such a sweet guy but still has that grrr factor Their chemistry is fantastic the dialogue isn't contrived the events are believable and the pacing was perfect Holy crap this one scene involving a suirrel had me cracking up I literally enjoyed this book and my experience reading it I am riding high and loving it people Keep an eye out for this author seriously I have to say I am digging everything Entangled Publishing is putting out They have their fingers on the pulse and they are nailing it Keep it up To Ophelia Please chain yourself to your computer and write write write I'll send you provisions That is all Go read and be happy Click on the cover to see it's Goodreads page I have to go listen to Kelly now adiosIf you are liking what I'm reviewing check out my blog pagetrotterblogspotcom

This is a great read Witty romantic and fun Love Rick and all his sexiness and really enjoyed the time they spent at the cabin before Brandy showed up Mac's voice is honest in a way we can all identify with especially as well all have had doubts at the beginning of a relationshipGreat #2 Bliss book cannot wait for Book 3 I love the Bliss line because it still gives me romance but without all the nasty details My imagination can do all the work on it's own Ophelia London is becoming a favorite author I am looking forward to her release of Abby Road in March

What I liked The interaction with Mac and Rick was – frustrating loving hot and timid – all those words that feel like falling in love Most romance books are over the top with the perfect guy doing the perfect thing something I have never experienced or witnessed You know the ones that exist only in romance novels Ophelia London keeps her characters flawed realistic relatable and lovable they are people you could easily be friends with cheer for and adore It’s what makes Speaking of Love believable and real It’s what has set the Perfect Kisses series apart from all others In Speaking of Love Mac is trying to make her town a better place The little side stories in novels while not a huge part of the story are the ones that keep me engrossed Mac and Rick are good people trying to do the right thing by the town and each other It’s admirable I liked that we also got to see characters from the first book in the Perfect Kisses series Playing at Love It was fun to revisit them and see how their relationship was progressing What I didn’t likeMac’s initial relationship with Rick bugged me I really dislike the girl games you find in so many YA and Romance novels You know where the girl wants something and expects everyone to read her mind? Initially I thought Mac was heading that way but her saving grace is that she actually wasn't playing games She was sincerely trying to save her heart from potential pain by falling for a guy she just couldn't be with It was easy for me to forgive her and soon I found myself cheering for her RatingsPG There is no sex but there are some steamy kissing scenes that weren't graphic The kissing and emotion had me completely engulfed – what played out in my mind was than what was written So the book is rated PG but I’m telling you – you’re going to love it In all honesty if you love romance but don’t like the romance that borders on erotica read Ophelia London’s Perfect Kisses series They Are Awesome I give Speaking of Love 4 ½ skulls only because Mac’s behavior at the beginning of the book irritated me enough I had to put the book in time out otherwise it would be a 5 skull rating Once Mac figured out how she felt about Rick I couldn't stop reading I ended up staying up until 1 AM to finish it Then first thing this morning I re read the last chapter because it was just a feel good happy ending that left me smiling Something I think the world could use of books like Speaking of Love that make you feel good

So currently I've been on a bit of a romance binge and this one fell under my radar So far Falling For Her Fiance has been my favorite romance novel by this publisher but this comes a close second35 starsThe main characters are pretend datingBoth of them barely open up about their personal life and Mackenzie can no longer stand going to any upper charity functionsSo she decides to fix up her friend Rick with someone who can actually stand going to the functions and maybe even date him for realThere is a lot of chemistry between the characters and the book manages to keep you interested I love the fact that Mackenzie is so passionate about her community and takes an active stand regarding things that matter to her Rick is an individual that you love read about The story is told from dual point of views and is great fun What can you want from a romance?I haven't read the first book and I didn't even know this was part of a series till I checked Goodreads so it's safe to say that this book can be read as a stand aloneThis book leaves me wanting to read some romance ASAP

Reviewed for THE READING CAFEhttpthereadingcafecomspeaking of love by ophelia london a review4 out of 5 for this reader folksSimple formula for this read Almost lovers friends lovers You know the kind of relationship that is made to lastSpeaking of Love was another wonderful SWEET love story by Ophelia London It is the second book of her Perfect Kisses series and it certainly did not let me down I have discovered that Ophelia London has a great style This is the third book of hers I have read and she is brilliant at sarcastic uick wit amazing chemistry between her hero and heroine including modern day references and just making me believe that love could really be this BEAUTIFULNow let's get to some of the nitty gritty shall we??We first met Mackenzie Simms but you better call her Mac and most definantely not BABE or she'll go postal all over you in the first book of this series called Playing at Love Mac is my kind of girl By profession she is a speechdebate teacher at the local high school and by nature she is outspoken for sure set in her ways stubborn very uick witted matchmaker to her friends and REALLY REALLY easy to like She fights for what she believes in and will go a million miles to help those she lovesWe also met Rick Duffy in Playing for Love Rick is a reporter who actually owns the local paper He is also a bit of an oxymoron although it takes Mac forever to figure this out silly girl Rick comes from a rich pompous family but he truely doesn't embrace the posh lifestyle that he was born into While Rick loves a fancy car and suit carries himself with much class and is well mannered he can wear a fine pair of jeans and plaid shirt drive an old four wheeler and get dog slobbered with the best of themThese two COMPLETE OPPOSITES Pssstt good thing we know that opposites tend to attract right?? LOLMac and Rick tried the whole let's get hot and heavy when they first met and I think it may have gone well until Mac found out that Rick came from money and is the son of the man who was responsible for essentially ruining Mac's parents marriage Unfortunantley our speech professional cannot seem to find the words to tell Rick this small tidbit of information so they each embrace the friendship aspect of their relationship instead and carry onI at times got really frustrated with these two I am such spit it out and say what you mean kind of personality that I found I rolled my eyes at some of their ignorance towards each other and jumping to negative assumptions right away Now of course let's be honest here without any of that this book would not flowed nor had any build up WINKSomehow through the maze of setting up her beauty ueen cousin with Rick fighting off an ape man constant heat filled banter mutual attraction truck catastrophe snowstorm with serious sexy moments suirrel fighting and a kick ass demonstration in a small town these two do finally figure it out A great read and I do strongly recommend you read the first book in this series as the characters are introduced and you get a good feel for their personalities and the intrigue of where is this going???? That being said you can read this as a stand alone very comfortablyI want to finish this review with a flirty moments between Mac and Rick And anyways there is still no better song for house cleaning than I Want Your SexReally? Rick turned to her again one eyebrow lifted next time you come over to my house I'll play it for you The way he was smiling made Mac's heart hiccup My floors could use a good deep clean I have to try that LOL

HEAs always make me happy I’m always glad and relieved when two wonderful characters find their happily ever afterRick is a journalist who has taken ownership of The Franklin Standard a local paper per his grandfather’s dying wishes He comes from a very wealthy family with deep roots in the city of Franklin but that hasn’t fazed his personality He is a realistic down to earth person with simple expectations Mackinze is a speakdebate high school teacher who is not afraid to voice her opinion and fight what she believes in Mack is a beautiful strong independent woman who loves her family and donates her time to the local animal shelter She is emotionally unavailable since her pass relationship didn’t end well but somehow Rick has slipped passed her defenses and into her heart Fighting her feelings and ignoring the obvious she finds herself in a difficult place not only because she is afraid to start a romantic relationship with anyone but because unbeknownst to Rick their fathers have a hateful historyIt wasn’t an easy journey for Rick and Mackenzie since she felt they didn’t have compatible lifestyles and he felt that Mack wasn’t interested It’s experiencing the heartache insecurity and doubt of these characters that make them so relatable I love stories like this since I feel like they give us all hope that even faced with difficult obstacles between love interests there is still a possible happy ending

I read and finished Speaking of Love the day it came out My house went to shambles and my husband brought home dinner I just couldn't put it downSpeaking of Love follows a new storyline of Mackenzie the best friend of Tess from Playing at Love Mac is a high school teacher who isn't interested in a relationship with anyone Rick is a wealthy newspaper owner who is happy to be set up with Mac's super hot cousin So what happens when they plan a weekend away with the super hot cousin and Mac's go to frienddate Why are they jealous of each other's dates? What will happen? Read it and find outOphelia did a great job following up on the first story line but introducing a new story all together Tess and Jack take the supporting role this time around and we get to see why Mac and Rick are who they are Mac's wit and Rick's surprisingly laid back other side made them loveable characters from the start
