45 FANTASTIC DRAMA FILLED STARSThat’s pretty much what I wanted to do the entire time I was reading Rock Star AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHI mean I still feel like screaming my lungs out after this bookBefore I start my review I have to get this Vanni rant off my chest I have to say that Vanni is probably one of the most SELFISH characters I have EVER read about To say there were moment where I was pulling my hair out pacing raging mad was an understatement This guy is seriously UNBELIEVABLE There were so many situation where I was looking at my iPad thinking NO FKING WAY he is NOT going to do that and low and freaking behold the douche does exactly what I was screaming in my mind for him NOT to do Vanni is the type of character that oozes dysfunction and I'm not talking minor things He's seriously dysfunctional I really don't think that this guy knows how to put anyone first other than himself He is a seriously SELF INDULGENT prck WHEWDeep Breaths in and out breathes I feel so much better now that I’ve got that off my chestlolRock Star is book 2 in Ginger Voight’s angsty brilliant trilogy The first book is called Groupie and drove me absolutely insane when I read it This author has such amazing writing skillsseriously She writes with so much intensity the her characters spring to life from the page gripping you to the edge of your seat When you’re reading her books no matter what sweet indulgent torture she’s putting you through you just can't seem to PUT THE BOOK DOWN It’s crazy crazy good Despite almost being driven to the point of insanity and wanting to murder a fictional character I have to say that I love these books and the characters They're the type of characters I have a lovehate relationship with While I'm reading I'm torn up and thinking Oh my God I cannot keep reading this but deep inside I'm devouring the angst soaking it up and relishing it I knowI have issueslolI won't say to much about the book because it will ruin it if you haven't read Groupie yet but basically we leave Andy were we last saw her She's decided to stay with Graham after the incident Vanni is not too happy about this and pretty much goes into a whoa is me downward spiral the way he throws himself a pitty partyomgno wordsHe becomes increasingly worse and pisses you off like NOTHING ELSE Andy is the same as in the last book She's torn between Graham and Vanni It's a emotional struggle that tears your insides apart Even with all the back and forth I felt that we got to see some major growth with Vanni’s character He has some issues that are confronted in this book and with that we get to see him grow up a little bit Andy is his saving grace and never abandons him And as much as that infuriates me at times it also made me see that she is a hell of a woman ”He needed her to patch all the tears With every soft kiss she planted along his cheek neck and shoulder he felt her healing love pour over each open wound She softened his rough edges She gave his soul peace She was as she had always been his saving grace” Not only do we get to see Vanni and Andy work themselves out we get to meet some new characters And let me tell you they throw a nice little twist in this story Bringing a whole new form of sizzle and angst that keeps you on your toes Overall I thought Rock Star was a brilliant continuation from Groupie It was a drive you insane riveting fantastically gut wrenching ride Ms Voight knows how to draw the reader in and torture them just enough to keep them coming back for Out of every author and series I have ever read this is by far the angstiest I’m dying to get to Mogul and see how the last book plays out I would HIGHLY recommend this series if you are a angst reader like me

Four StarsDo not read the following until you’ve read book one Groupie There are minor spoilers below He was her drug He always had been And until that very moment neither of them realized that she was his as well He couldn’t get enough He could never get enough It took me TWO attempts to read this Two Why? Well the first time I started to read this it was immediately after reading Groupie book #1 If you read my review you know it was angst on steroids I knew I shouldn’t have immediately jumped to this book but I really couldn’t help it I’m a masochist and I wanted to continue the torture Unfortunately at 25% into this book I had enough and wrote “Ok That's it I just uttered my safe word I couldn't take the pain any I'm broken but I am determined to finish this crazy ass story only after book three The Mogul comes out in February sigh I feel slightly better but my iPad is telling me to SUCK IT UP and FINISH THIS SHIT ALREADY FUCK” So it took me 20 days to return to this book I figured I’d suck it up and take it like an adult I read this pretty fast too I figured it’s like ripping off a band aid you know to lessen the pain but unfortunately the story still stung like a bitch He snarled as he thought of Graham Lucky bastard He had money He had power He’d already had two other wives And now he had Andy too After what transpired at the end of book one Vanni was one hot mess He couldn’t cope with what happened and started to spiral out of control The beginning of the book was a tough pill for me to swallow Watching Vanni lose it was very difficult to read Hence why I stopped reading at first When I emailed the fabulous Ginger Voight to vent out my frustration she basically told me that after Vanni’s treatment of Andy in most of book one he wasn’t ready to be worthy of Andyyet He had to hit rock bottom first She explained it further by saying “Vanni's about to get totally bitch slapped through fate It'll level him to the point he'll realize he's been a complete dumbass but it'll come at a huge cost to him with something that will spill over into the next book with explosive conseuences BUT the plus side of that is that he'll realize he needs Andy on a fundamental level beyond just a romantic partner He'll realize he's alone in this world without her It's an eye opening moment for him”This helped me tremendously when powering through this story Especially when Andy kept see sawing back and forth between he and Graham “Tell me you love me” he begged as he slipped between her legs under her skirt“I love you” she muttered in an incoherent whisper“Tell me you don’t love him” he persisted“Tell me” he pleaded“You do love him” he finally said “Don’t you?” She didn’t answer “Don’t you” As much as I love the concept of two strong sexy Alpha males fighting over me I would NOT want to be in Andy’s shoes She is stuck between a rock and a hard place She’s in love with two completely different men for two completely different reasons As much as I adored Vanni he was mostly an ass to Andy in book one As for Graham I fell in love with him and was devastated at what happened to him This book once ripped me apart just like book one did My heart was all over the place Each man claimed that they needed Andy but the answer to who needed Andy was never really uite answered It was so difficult to not feel for the other My heart just broke “But unfortunately the road to hell really is paved with good intentions” We meet a couple new characters in this book too We meet Maggie the nurse helping Graham with his rehabilitation She was awesome plus it helps that she’s a nurse like me What’s not to like? Then there’s Leoyea he’s just a total sleaze ball And then there’s Holly Ugh My bitch radar immediately went off when we meet her She was too good but I knew there was a side to her that I knew I wasn’t going to like Makes me wonder what’s up her sleeve in the next book Just remember this a very tough series to read but I give mad props to Ginger for writing a story that will make you swoon one minute and then make you scream “bloody murder” the next It’s that emotional I wonder what book three The Mogul has in store? Hmmmcan’t wait to find out

I want to start by saying I absolutely love Ginger Voight's books They always have me on the edge of my seat because I never know what is going to happen next Rock Star was no exception this book was crazy and intense from start to finish I will admit that after reading Groupie I had to give myself a little break before starting Rock Star because I needed to keep my sanity in tactThis is how I felt when reading this bookIt is a crack book it will having you screamingNNNNNOOOOOWHY would you do that However the characters are so addictive you can't stop reading once you start I will admit that when I began this book I wasn't feeling it like I did Groupie but that changed very fast and I ended up liking it just as muchThe whole predicament was a gigantic ball of fucked up I believe Ginger says it best so I just uoted herThis is the second installment in this series basically it's the same love triangle we've all grown to love with a few new characters thrown in to mix things up But this book's focus is the same as the first book; Vanni Andy and Graham I'm not going to go into the storyline because uite frankly you would just have to read it to understand the addiction “But unfortunately the road to hell really is paved with good intentions”That pretty much sums it up I can not wait to read Mogul I will be buying that book as soon as it's available

OMG I thought I disliked Groupie but this has far surpassed that I actually want to throw my iPad across the room I was so mad and aggravated sometimes I usually can find most movies or books to have enough redeeming ualities to find them enjoying but this is one of the VERY VERY FEW that I couldn't I don't really read much if any paranormal because when it comes to love and romance I want to believe it has a snow balls chance of being real I have enough real life dramas to be cynical enough to believe real love and happiness truly exist In most of the books I read it is hard enough to believe that every hero has a LARGE DK and can keep it hard 247 for 3 8 rounds a day Maybe there are a lot of Them out there and I just can't find them The problem with this book is there is not a single character that you can totally respect and root for Graham is the closest but even he starts to fall short in this book Maggie wins out in the end I guess I have never seen so many lying cheating selfish self centered egotistical co dependent sadistic pathetic manipulative scheming and just PLAIN STUPID characters gathered in one book I wish I NEVER started reading this series

To uote Mackle THIS trilogy IS FCKING AWESOMEI needed Valium to get through this book especially towards the end I am not kidding when I say there were parts when I was gasping for air and screaming NOOOOOOOOO at my iPad while reading it Jesus Ginger Voight certainly knows how to keep us on the edge of our seats Can't wait for the conclusion to this crazy rollercoaster ride and certainly hope everyone gets to live happily ever after

While the first book in this series surprised me by how much I enjoyed it this one just fell short and was weighed down by drama Having read the first book we all know that Vanni isn't a good guy He's cheated lied screwed over everyone who trusted him yet Andy just keeps going back This is a story where both parties would be so much better and happier if they stayed away from each other Also who saw that twist a mile away? Everything just seemed like it was thrown in to cause drama and not to progress the story any It just turned into who can dick over who the mostand yet I need to read the final book to see how this all settles The crazy thing is I really like Andy and how she's not your typical thin Barbie type girl She's full figured smart and for the most part she's independent Her weakness is Vanni and the pull that she feels with him is described perfectly She can't let him go and I can feel that Even though I want her to because she would be so much happier lol Then there's Vanni who just wants to destroy himself I honestly don't know if he's redeemable at this point because everything he does is just horrible And I think that's where my disconnect comes in the believability of it Everything at the end of this book kind of wrapped up nicely especially with the Graham situation But of course there's drama to come and I guarantee that just like every other new adultadult romance no one has heard of a paternity test So bring on the drama

This H is so immature spoiled weak and gross And here I thought I needed his POV He was just incredibly irredeemable and despicable And holy fuck do I have an unphased ability to tolerate OW The h was a total nitwit and every chance she had to stop their bullshit from exploding and she didn’t take it Save me from fucking martyrsThis book was nearly the exact same plot as book 1 Instead of the h having to be graceful about the scraps her H tossed her way it was his turn and he let her down at every obstacleThe angst was totally in my wheelhouse But weak H’s are way too Beta for me

  10. Sadie Grubor Sadie Grubor says:

In the second installment we get the soap opera version of a trainwreck and car accident along with the hidden identically cloned triplet of the evil twin sister Again this book was okay The heroine and hero still annoyed me and it got worse the I went on But did I stop?Nooooooooof course not The seuel took the book one over the top and did it Pee Wee's Big Over the Top adventure I wanted to just exit out of the book and stop myself from delving further into the craziness but hell if that's what I did I was like thisThey can't be together again It's the phrase of the day YAY After reading these back to back I need a bottle of wine a couple xanax and a goo old fashion slasher horror book to bring back the balanceWhew
