Mr Scholey knew most of the soldiers mentioned here personally and the accounts of exploits some of which are still mostly unknown to the general public make for enthralling reading By telling the stories of those within the SAS of the time to whom he has given his respect he lets the public know what a fellow SAS soldier values as true courage These are the unsung heroes who it could be argued deserve to be recognised for their daring and bravery and yet who remain largely anonymous They have not sought publicity or to make money out of their time in the SAS some of them having been SAS career soldiers for many years What comes across is the modesty and true grit of these men and how much we owe them for their unseen battles on behalf of their countryA book I can recommend without hesitation for its honesty the careful research and astonishing stories of true life experiences A credit to the author

This is an insightful and thoughtful recounting of twenty men within the SAS that have shown the bravery courage and metal that we expect without the media attention that they deserve Scholey an SAS man himself tells their stories as they would in a simple straight forward and factual way that allows their actions to speak for themselves with being turned into some movie action seuence Upon on reading you are drawn by Scholey's words into the thick of the operation while being given the chance to reflect on the events leading to and occuring at the time something which these men did not have This collection of real men's stories shows the SAS and the armed forces in general for that matter in the light they deserve one of uiet and dignity in the face of extreme adversity where the brave are truely sorted from the rest of us all the while keeping their humanity and their humour These men are truely remarkableand possibly a little unstable
