    After I’d divorced my husband two years ago I had this sensation of a hole in the pit of my stomach and it was really getting on my nerves An example similar to mine is described in the book's intro On the one hand the author doesn’t explain how the woman from the example got rid of her problem but on the other the book includes so many examples with detailed explanations that the method is pretty clear I managed to get rid of my sensation of a hole in a couple of hours and I spent three days repeating the exercise to make sure the sensation won’t come back and it hasn’t so far I taught the techniue to a friend of mine who has a similar problem and she said the sensation has gone I used only the techniue from the second chapter The Activating Breath and it worked well for me and my friend

    Secret Techniues for Controlling Sadness Anger Fear Anxiety and Other Emotions does something that no other book that I’ve read does It breaks down emotions in bodily sensations and then traces the techniues that human mind uses to regulate feelings in real life I know that feelings can and often do have somatic manifestations from psychology courses but I did not know that you can use your body to regulate your emotions the way your mind does It’s extraordinary in my opinion I highly recommend this book
