    this book presents an adequate picture of the hanging judge it is written with care but a bit lackluster the good and the bad is half way through the author allows parker s trials to speak for the man himself which makes for insightful, objective representaion but tedious reading however, what is still evident is that he presided over one of the most interesting places during one one of the most interesting times in american history so it is still captivating enough luckily the book this book presents an adequate picture of the hanging judge it is written with care but a bit lackluster the good and the bad is half way through the author allows parker s trials to speak for the man himself which makes for insightful, objective representaion but tedious reading however, what is still evident is that he presided over one of the most interesting places during one one of the most interesting times in american history so it is still captivating enough luckily the book concludes at a short clip 200 pgs
