So, it wasn t a bad book It was fine I think if someone was considering becoming a florist, they would really like it But, I really don t care that much about flowers or the florist business Flowers are pretty Florists exchange flowers for money That s all I know well, until now But, that was all I really needed to know Or wanted to know I was comfortable in my floral ignorance. This book seriously got bogged down with details of everything flower I can maybe handle a paragraph of fl So, it wasn t a bad book It was fine I think if someone was considering becoming a florist, they would really like it But, I really don t care that much about flowers or the florist business Flowers are pretty Florists exchange flowers for money That s all I know well, until now But, that was all I really needed to know Or wanted to know I was comfortable in my floral ignorance. This book seriously got bogged down with details of everything flower I can maybe handle a paragraph of flower descriptions or stuff about the floral industry, but pages and pages of it The bell pepper is right A bullet to the brain was called for a few times in this story.Wow A little dark for Disney, huh I approve Okay, so the story is a mystery with a little bit of romance The female is a florist, obviously, and the male is a cop She is a murder suspect, living in Mormon town, with an abusive ex husband and meddling mother He s a pretty cop That s really all we get about him Do we need to knowOr, are we fine with some pod person with no real background sprouting up and falling in insta love with our girl If he s hot enough, I ll allow itI ll allow a LOT of things with this guy Aside from the over abundance of floral descriptions, I also didn t like the girl She was way too stupid to live You need some sort of bookish proof, don t you Damn That meanstyping for me.Okay, so she has an ex husband who beat her and now her sister has a boyfriend who beats her Her sister calls her while her bf is out, after he beat her up, and asks her to come and pick her up Our girl runs over there and gets her out of the house, but with much fighting with the bf who shows up Now, our girl says to herself that this guy WILL definitely beat her up if she goes into his house, and then the guy tells her to get into the house He doesn t want a scene in his front yard so nobody knows what he is really like He doesn t have a weapon on her So, what would you do A go quietly into his house knowing full well that he will beat you up B Tell him to go fuck himself and leave C Kick him in the nuts, tell him to go fuck himself and leave D Scream bloody murder that he is a girl beating asshole, kick him in the nuts, tell him to go fuck himself and leave E Any answer but A.The answer should be E But, no, our girl chooses option A and gets beat up Why I don t know There isn t a sane reason on Earth as to why she did this Except TSTL.She also doesn t let the cops know that she is being stalked, harassed, threatened, and run off the road She steals evidence in the murder investigation and doesn t let the cops know She finds out tons of information from her investigation and doesn t call the cops Her excuse is that she is a suspect and the homocide detective has it in for her Well, there are other cops in the police department, right TSTLThen, after she gets almost a confession from one guy, she also doesn t report it and continues to go to his place of business TSTLAlso, after her whole beat up incident when she saved her sister, she gets another call from a different woman who says she needs to be saved from her abusive husband too Did she learn her lesson and actually call the cops to handle it this time Did she bring someone else with her to give her back up Did she even tell anyone on the face of the earth that she was doing this No Of course not She goes racing into another stupidly dangerous situation TSTLAnd, it goes on and onI really think Darwin was trying to weed this chick out of the gene pool Unfortunately, Mr Hottie Cop who has insta love kept saving her, so I have a bad feeling that procreation is imminent Damn That can t be good for society. For a wedding gift, I m getting her a toaster and a kiddie pool Fingers crossed There were a couple of good points to the book I chuckled a couple of times over the weird Mormon society moments There was a pretty funny scene when Hot Cop orders a beer in a restaurant and all of the customers act as if he just killed a puppy Being that they live in a small town, her mother calls her the next day, of course, to express her concern He is now known as The Beer Drinker to mom She approves of the sister s bf who beats her, though He did missionary work for the church Priorities, Mormon style. The mystery part was okayish Which is overall my feeling on the whole book The house is right

The Final Arrangement Flower Shop Mystery 1 by Annie Adam is a 2013 publication This is a fast paced cozy mystery featuring Quincy McKay, the owner of a flower shop, divorced from an abusive husband, living in Utah, just trying to get a little bit ahead like the rest of us But, for Quincy, who has has a habit of speaking first and thinking later, it seems life s circumstances are stacked against her For starters, her rival in the flower shop business, Derrick Gibbons, is murdered after ha The Final Arrangement Flower Shop Mystery 1 by Annie Adam is a 2013 publication This is a fast paced cozy mystery featuring Quincy McKay, the owner of a flower shop, divorced from an abusive husband, living in Utah, just trying to get a little bit ahead like the rest of us But, for Quincy, who has has a habit of speaking first and thinking later, it seems life s circumstances are stacked against her For starters, her rival in the flower shop business, Derrick Gibbons, is murdered after having stole a large chunk of Quincy s business away from her, making her a person of interest To add to her aggravations, she must deal with trying to run a business, her quirky employees, her sister s personal issues and a nosy mother, but there is one bright spot in her life a young police officer named Alex, or so she hopes anyway As Quincy tries to discover what happened to her rival, she becomes a victim of several attempts on her life, keeping her in direct contact with hunky Alex, but it s becoming difficult to determine who she can or can not trustI do enjoy cozy mysteries,so now than I ever used to, but they can be just a little bit too silly, too outrageous or the plots can be way too thin How did this one measure up This one has some pretty funny lines in it, and I loved Quincy s attitude and smart mouth, and the secondary characters were as well defined as one can hope, especially with the first book in a new series However, the murder mystery, which started off strong, got lost in quagmire of suggested shady dealings at the funeral home, and then went way off track, when we were on the mystery track, that is Like many cozies, the mystery is sort of secondary to the characters and their personal struggles, and they often run in the background, but, there were times when we had to read through several chapters before we get a line on the mystery again But, as I have said countless times, often the first book out in a series is on shaky ground as it fights for solid ground Introducing all the main characters, and giving them definition, plus setting up a story line, is a lot to deal with So, usually, if I liked a book well enough, will give it a second chance to see how things go from there I think that is the approach I will take with this one It s not the most solid beginning in the world, but it held it s own and was an enjoyable enough read, so I think it deserves a second look Overall 3 stars

3.5 solid stars Posted on the blog Final Arrangement is the first book in The Flower Shop Mystery series and was a really fun ride Quincy McKay owns a flower shop When her arch nemesis who stole all her funeral business ends up dead and discovered in a casket at the mortuary it opens up an opportunity for Quincy to get it all back Unfortunately for Quincy, she is the last one who saw Derrick Gibbons alive and is now the prime suspect in his mur 3.5 solid stars Posted on the blog Final Arrangement is the first book in The Flower Shop Mystery series and was a really fun ride Quincy McKay owns a flower shop When her arch nemesis who stole all her funeral business ends up dead and discovered in a casket at the mortuary it opens up an opportunity for Quincy to get it all back Unfortunately for Quincy, she is the last one who saw Derrick Gibbons alive and is now the prime suspect in his murder investigation. After his death, things couldn t beout of control for Quincy in both her personal life and business life The Final Arrangement was fast paced and had me hooked from the first two pages Quincy was a fun character, who felt a little chaotic and scattered at times, but that s what made her character and I loved it She has issues with her workers, one being the delivery driver Nick who can t seem to ever be on time or places she needs him to be, and Cindy a girl who shows up to work wearing provocative clothing Quincy s reactions and interaction with people had left me giggling, it was smart and witty. The mystery was interesting and with so many things going on in between for the character, the book kept me on my toes It set in a Mormon community and I learned things about them that I have to say I wouldn t have otherwise Like the fact that drinking beer in a restaurant earns a lot of gasps from people heh Quincy has a lot to deal with on top of trying to find who the killer is so she doesn t end up in the casket like her arch nemesis and I enjoyed following her around.Thought the book felt like it wrapped up quickly, the killer did come as a surprise I am looking forward forQuincy and what will happen to her in the future, especially with her and officer Alex I got a copy of this book for free in exchange of an honest review I was not compensated for it All my thoughts and opinions are my own

I wish I could give half stars I d love to make this 3.5 This is cute story I found myself connecting with the characters and the plot Funny and serious, I found myself rushing home to see what Quincy got herself into today Congrats Annie There was quite a bit of flower shop jargon, which I might have enjoyed a littleif I knew what the flowers looked like, or what the arrangements looked like.

Let me start off that I don t think this was a bad book It just was not for me, whether it was the timing or because I am not a huge fan of floral mysteries. The mystery was good I could not figure out the killer until it was revealed and that I really enjoyed it The romance was ok but felt a bit over the top I would have much rather preferredget to know you interaction between them There were a few characters throughout the book that I am still trying to figure out if they were truly Let me start off that I don t think this was a bad book It just was not for me, whether it was the timing or because I am not a huge fan of floral mysteries. The mystery was good I could not figure out the killer until it was revealed and that I really enjoyed it The romance was ok but felt a bit over the top I would have much rather preferredget to know you interaction between them There were a few characters throughout the book that I am still trying to figure out if they were truly necessary.I apologize for the short review but I am having a hard time reviewing a book that I was not into. Please don t judge this book by my review
