    I wasn t a Jenni Rivera fan until after her death After reading this book, I nowfully understand why so many people loved her It wasn t just about the music her life echoed the lives of all the millions of fans she had She grew up poor, was involved in violent relationships, suffered through domestic abuse, was a single parent, made poor choicesthan once, disgraced her family, was on welfare, yet somehow rose to the top despite all the trials and tribulations of her life Her int I wasn t a Jenni Rivera fan until after her death After reading this book, I nowfully understand why so many people loved her It wasn t just about the music her life echoed the lives of all the millions of fans she had She grew up poor, was involved in violent relationships, suffered through domestic abuse, was a single parent, made poor choicesthan once, disgraced her family, was on welfare, yet somehow rose to the top despite all the trials and tribulations of her life Her intent was never to be a music star she just did what paid the bills and gave her children a better life She was the most down to earth individual and her love for her fans was immense She never took any of her accomplishments for granted Sadly, she always wanted to retire and leave the music behind in order to be just a mom to her children and to enjoy her grandchildren Her untimely death did not allow for that This book confirmed why she is referred to as La Gran Senora You can t help to come away from this read admiring her strength and inner beauty

    I hadn t heard of Jenni Rivera until I saw an interview with her sister promoting this book I love female memoirs and I love rags to riches stories This book has both She never once apologizes for who she was nor asked for sympathy She s very to the point and very honest.

    This is the story of a strong woman s life She went through many things in her life including an 8 year abusive relationship, rape, and suicide attempts She fought through everything and everyone, including herself, and she ended up becoming in my opinion the most famous and known banda singer She was is an inspiration even though she was not perfect However, she passed away in December of 2012 due to a tragic plane crash This book is her legacy.

    BE REAL Seriously This was a quick read, I wouldn t recommend it I mean this is for someone who didn t know Jenni and wanted to know about her.Everything in this book is pretty much what she let be known on TV, Interviews and her show I love Jenni Her family claims they didn t change it but seriously the last chapter was the only thing they didn t let go into detail and we all wanted to know about her fight with Chiquis and her divorce from Esteban.I gave it 4 stars because it was a good read BE REAL Seriously This was a quick read, I wouldn t recommend it I mean this is for someone who didn t know Jenni and wanted to know about her.Everything in this book is pretty much what she let be known on TV, Interviews and her show I love Jenni Her family claims they didn t change it but seriously the last chapter was the only thing they didn t let go into detail and we all wanted to know about her fight with Chiquis and her divorce from Esteban.I gave it 4 stars because it was a good read but seriously it wasn t worth the hype or money Because the last chapter was probably edited by her sister it gets 2

    We really lost a beautiful person inside and out when Jenni passed This memoir was very touching and brutally honest She was a true fighter and a woman to be looked up to It would have been interesting to see the rest of the pages that were yet to be written had she not passed away.
