3 STARSThis really shows how really nice people will go out of their way to make sure a kid is safe It also shows that some people areinterested in their own lives over a 8 year old Also shows the problems with all the records were lost during Katrina There are a few love scenes that I did skip over The story tells two different stories lines till they meet up together It does make you care about the characters I wanted Courtney to find the missing child.Courtney is a social worker 3 STARSThis really shows how really nice people will go out of their way to make sure a kid is safe It also shows that some people areinterested in their own lives over a 8 year old Also shows the problems with all the records were lost during Katrina There are a few love scenes that I did skip over The story tells two different stories lines till they meet up together It does make you care about the characters I wanted Courtney to find the missing child.Courtney is a social worker A case she has not had for long has come up that they don t think the child Courtney knows is the same one who came into the system over 8 years ago The child was separated from her foster family at the time of Katrina and was sent to a different state for a few years till the family could get back into their house and out of a FENMA Trailer They don t know where the switch was made So two different girls were called Araceli.Marc DiLeo is staying at his mother s house after a accident that makes it hard for him to climb stairs He is still taking pain killers and going to physical therapy He is finding himself not caring about anything Courtney goes early to family dinner to ask Marc for help about how she can try and find the child Marc tells her to figure out when the switch was made but if it was right after she got in the system with Katrina happening she might have been lost for over 8 years and it did not look good.Marc finds people who skip out on their bail His family gets involved and tells him he should help her find the girl if possible Even his brother the doctor Marc decides to get out of the house and tells Courtney to come on He needs a office and his regular pay plus he needs to be driven where ever he needs to go.Courtney is off work while the FBI investigate the case to make sure she was not covering up anything and because the girl Araceli traveled across state lines So Courtney agrees and shows Marc the guest house behind her house It is small but all on the same floor unlike his mom s place So he tells her that he will stay their to go get his computer and clothes for him while he reads the case files. They go into a few different states trying to track down when and where Araceli disappeared It does not help that the other Araceli took off when they started to ask questions It is interesting to see them piece the trail off Araceli to discover what had happened.I would read another book by Jeanie London in the future.I was given this ebook to read and asked to give honest review of it by Netgalley.publication September 3rd 2013 by Harlequin Super Romance 384 pages ISBN 0373607970

The second of Jeanie London s DiLeo Family books blends romance and mystery in a story with rich contexts and strong emotional appeal The details of Araceli s life and of the chaos confronting the New Orleans Department when their paper records were destroyed by Katrina and the nightmare of tracking the 2000 children who were evacuated from the city grounds Love in Plain Sight in compelling reality Because London weaves first person chapters in Araceli s voice into the novel, the reader cares The second of Jeanie London s DiLeo Family books blends romance and mystery in a story with rich contexts and strong emotional appeal The details of Araceli s life and of the chaos confronting the New Orleans Department when their paper records were destroyed by Katrina and the nightmare of tracking the 2000 children who were evacuated from the city grounds Love in Plain Sight in compelling reality Because London weaves first person chapters in Araceli s voice into the novel, the reader cares about her happiness as an individual rather than as a statistic from the early chapters of the book Since both the Gerard and DiLeo families are introduced in earlier books, London s fans have expanded contexts for both hero and heroine.Courtney is a sympathetic character from the beginning, given her genuine concern for her clients and her colleagues, but Marc is a harder sell A bounty hunter s job does not immediately evoke sympathy, and frankly Marc comes across as a jerk who fails to appreciate his having survived a near fatal accident and the love and support of his lively family He is also deliberately rude to Courtney But Harley Prince Gerard, Courtney s sister in law and Marc s practically a sister, assures Courtney that Marc is a jerk with a marshmallow center, and as the reader, along with Courtney, begins to see the softness he struggles to hide, Marc becomessympathetic Long before the end, I was rooting for their HEA.If you like your romances with a touch of realism, a helping of mystery, and a romance with plenty of sizzle and credible complications, I think you will like Love in Plain Sight I love the DiLeo family, and since there are still unmarried brothers, I hope we seeof them in future books See full review at Just Janga

Writing 3Story 3Satisfaction 3Not a bad book but a little long at times The DiLeo family is the type to adopt anyone who comes by Courtney Gerard is one of the adopted family and before a Sunday dinner, Courtney asks Mama DiLeo if she thinks that her son, Marc, can help her Courtney is a social worker and one of her charges has disappeared Marc is a former bounty hunter and has the skills to do the tracking Marc has recently been in an accident leaving one of his legs shattered Stuck Writing 3Story 3Satisfaction 3Not a bad book but a little long at times The DiLeo family is the type to adopt anyone who comes by Courtney Gerard is one of the adopted family and before a Sunday dinner, Courtney asks Mama DiLeo if she thinks that her son, Marc, can help her Courtney is a social worker and one of her charges has disappeared Marc is a former bounty hunter and has the skills to do the tracking Marc has recently been in an accident leaving one of his legs shattered Stuck at home and frustrated, Marc isn t the most friendly person and he resents the care that his injury needs He takes on Courtney s case as an excuse to get out of his house but along the way, he learns that Courtney isthan just a woman from a privileged background and Courtney starts to break open Marc s tough outer shell There are also chapters from the point of view of what you assume to be the child they re searching for I thought these particular chapters were kind of interesting but overall distracting from the love story and I wish it d just been summarizedat the end after Marc and Courtney discovered the truth There is also plenty of information on the foster care system London has clearly done her research here and I applaud her for it but including so much of it in the book itself made things drag Still, the parts between Marc and Courtney were entertaining and their relationship developed nicely I was given a copy of this book by NetGalley

I haven t read a Superromance in awhile and I am glad I chose this offering from Ms London I would classify it as Romantic Suspense because the premise concerns a missing child The lead couple, a social worker and a bounty hunter, are realistic and likeable Their romance develops slowly and is wrapped around issues in the foster care system and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina It did contain a lot of detail, and at times the romance took a back set, but the happily ever after was sati I haven t read a Superromance in awhile and I am glad I chose this offering from Ms London I would classify it as Romantic Suspense because the premise concerns a missing child The lead couple, a social worker and a bounty hunter, are realistic and likeable Their romance develops slowly and is wrapped around issues in the foster care system and the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina It did contain a lot of detail, and at times the romance took a back set, but the happily ever after was satisfying and made sense The book had a strong plot line that stayed straight forward for the most part There are some chapters that are voiced by the missing child, and they had the potential to take me out of the story for a bit, until I could put the pieces where they fit I rated it 4 stars because of the author s ability to take a difficult subject, write about it intelligently, and wrap it up in a very satisfying romance I received my copy from NetGalley.com in exchange for an honest review

Do you like a mystery This book begins with the disappearance of a child following Hurricane Katrina, not discovered until several years later Social worker Courtney is determined to find and bring her home, but the FBI isn t working fast enough So she independently hires bounty hunter Marc, badly injured and trying to recover enough to be able to walk without limping His nasty attitude does little to help them work together until Courtney begins to see evidence that he, too, cares about the Do you like a mystery This book begins with the disappearance of a child following Hurricane Katrina, not discovered until several years later Social worker Courtney is determined to find and bring her home, but the FBI isn t working fast enough So she independently hires bounty hunter Marc, badly injured and trying to recover enough to be able to walk without limping His nasty attitude does little to help them work together until Courtney begins to see evidence that he, too, cares about the child he s never met.During the course of their search, each becomes aware of their attraction for each other, but when they find Ariceli, she gets ready to run, intent on avoiding going back into foster care How they stop her and realize their love for each other brings the story to an intriguing end

4.5 starsThis was a very pleasurable reading The whole story was sweet, interesting and well written, but I loved specially the romance between the hero and the heroine, how it developed not very fast but inexorably, and the way both learn to know each other. The hero was fantastic quiet, intense, brooding almost.I also liked the way the author handles the romance between the younger couple.
