It has honestly been awhile since I actually sat down and read a book of poetry but the effect is undoubtably nice Since I recently received Cynthology from a Goodreads First Reads giveaway I was able to take time this week to read through the book and I am now determined to make poetry a part of my regular reading list Young's collection of poems and rhymes are fairly modern and speak to the everyday person I loved how varied her thoughts were and how they were able to spark various emotions in the reader Additionally I found this style of writing to be really thought provoking which I loved honestly ever since I read The Giver in the fifth grade all of my favorite books are the ones where I can sit for a solid five minutes after reading turning over the contents and reflecting on the messageFinal remarks These are unedited poems and rhymes so some of the poems don't exactly flow well but the raw effect is nice in its own way If you do decide to read this book the poems I enjoyed the most were Stuff Sapphires and Pearls and Letting GoReview posted on

Good read received a personal copy from the author herself today and was very happy Beautiful collection that really gave a view into Cynthia's life at certain points Personal favorites of mine were Stashed Away Sapphires and Pearls and I Need to Lose Weight Very happy to have read this

This was not what I expected and not uite my cup of tea but nonetheless I enjoyed it Cynthology is obviously a very personal look at the author's life but nonetheless the themes are relatable and the rhymes are often clever and funny I particularly liked I Don't Want To Although the writing itself is good I found the structure of many of the poems to be a little weird The way the lines and stanzas are broken up ruined the flow of some of the poems for me especially because they all start with capital letters in places where they really don't need to Also there are some grammatical errors which could have been easily fixed Overall a sweet and worthwhile read though Received as a good reads first reader edition
