Robyn Carr s one of my all time favorite authors and her Virgin River series I could read over and over again.Small town romance is this author s specialty and in the Thunder Point series she takes us to the coast of Oregon.Scott Grant is the town doctor and also a widowed single father of 2 small children who works hard and is trying to get over the sudden loss of his wife 4 years earlier.Broken hearted Peyton Lacoumette breezes into town looking for a place to repair her shattered pride She is a nurse practitioner and agrees to give Scott a 3 month trial assisting him at his clinic The Promise is an uplifting story about overcoming loss and finding unexpected love.I love revisiting all of the characters that have come to mean so m...

4 The Promise StarsOk this might be a by product of beige reading a series I thought our Heroine was protesting toooooooooo much I liked the storyline just fine don t get me wrong, I am a fan of Doc Scott And I enjoyed getting to know his story But I think Peyton just keep protesting to much you know that famous saying methinks the lady doth protest too much Well this is what I was thinking the whole time with her I did like th...

I am happy that Scott finally got his HEA but I kept alternating between liking Peyton and wanting to smack her on the back of her head She claimed to be a good judge of character and great a reading people WRONG on both counts However, I gave her a pass because she geniunely meant well, had a good heart and was a hard worker She wasn t looking for pity, she just ...

Another very abrupt ending This series isn t quite as good as Carr s Virgin River though still worth reading if you like this kind of romance Books 1 3 of Thunder Point are better than books 4 and 5.

The Promise is a tender, slow building romance that just gives you that feel good feeling.Recently leaving an mentally abusive relationship Peyton Lacoumette, starts working for Dr Scott Grant in a small practice in Thunder Point Immediately drawn toward each other, Peyton s relationship scars have deep roots taking a lot of work on Scott s part to rip them loose.I love coming home to Carr s writing It is warm, with family, home and neighborhood at its core The town of Thunder Point could be your local suburb with characters that you d keep as close friends The Promise deals with difficult real life situations I fell in love with Peyton s serenity and true willingness to help even the family that abused her for years Don t miss The Promise a wonderful book vacation to Thunder Point.I received this ARC copy of The ...

This is my least favorite book of the Thunder Point series so far I found Scott and Peyton to be boring, the two of them together almost put me to sleep There was no fun or excitement between them, they just talked a lot, hung out with Scott s kids, and dealt with Peyton s issues I did enjoy reading about everyone else in the town Carr is a master at writing about small town communities and this one brings back all of my favorite characters from previous books I really liked how much I got to read about Cooper and Sarah from the first book The parts about the other people who live in Thunder Point were the best parts for me.If you have read and en...

Reviewed for THC Reviews The Promise was a little better than The Chance, the previous book of the Thunder Point series, for me, but I still didn t feel like it was quite up to the caliber that I know Robyn Carr is capable of The plot and characterizations were also a little too similar to The Chance A heroine who is soul searching after a major upheaval in her lifecheck She s just passing through town and decides it might be a nice place to sojourn until she gets things worked out in her headcheck A hard working hero with a heart of gold who almost instantly falls in love with hercheck A heroine who is reluctant to commit, because she d be giving up a lucrative and fulfilling careercheck A heroine who leaves town for a while when unexpected things occur, leaving the hero to wonder if she really loves him and is coming backcheck It was like Ms Carr was telling the same tired story all over again, only with different characters and slightly different situations The only thin...
