A great readNo one does such amazing medieval knights like Ms Moore She crafts a wonderful tale full of lavish details that just bring the era aliveWhen a strange knight comes to her home Mavis flees fearing the worst An arranged marriage She is stopped in her tracks by said knight as she hears his voice talking to his horse charmed she decides to be meet him properly first At first sight she is amazed by his handsome face and strong warrior bodyand secretly falls in love when she looks into his eyes His eyes hide a caring side and a yearning for love Believing they can make a good marriage she excepts himRoland can't believe his luck He gets a nice beautiful lady wife that is well connected and rich plus passionate so much than he ever expected considering the damaged rep his dead father and elder brother left behind As they make their long journey to his castle they slowly learn about one another and their unstoppable passion His family's bad rep causes a few stumbles but Mavis sees that he is so much than any of his family Her defense of him makes Roland feels warm and happy inside Can Mavis thaw her wounded cold warrior? Yes she canA wonderfully written talejust love these strong cold knights waiting for true love to unleash their warm caring side Wonderful details jump right off the pages bringing this medieval time of knights and ladies alive

35 stars Not as good as the first book at least IMOI personally didn't think this book was as good as the first book Castle of the Wolf that is not to say I didn't like this book because I did I just liked the first one better The blurb for this book doesn't really paint an entirely accurate overview of this book Mavis and Roland are both insecure and suffer from low self esteem Together they could have the love of a lifetime but they both let their insecurities get in the way I hope the next book in the series features Gerrard He was uite the character in this book and I would love to see him get a HEAWhile I didn't like this book as much as the first book it was still a good read and I would recommend it

While the first book in this series nearly bored me to tears this one despite some flaws was cute and sweet Both the hero and heroine were likable and both were uite refreshing to read about in a genre often plagued with stereotypical character types I liked Mavis in the first book much better than her cousin the heroine of said book and this book confirmed my liking of her character even Mavis was a sweet sensible and kickass heroine who stood up for the misunderstood man she loved but without the annoying hotheadednesspridefulness that seems to plague most other heroines in similar stories Roland was really not your stereotypical hero at all he was stoic didn't like to talk all that much and even found it annoying when others did talk too much a rare introvert hero yay? but he was honorable dutiful loyal and had a kindness that many did not see or comprehend immediately He was often unfairly judged based on the reputations of his horribly cruel and lecherous father and older brother view spoilerthankfully both dead due to events in the first book hide spoiler

Decent historical romance I felt that if the book had been a bit longer stretched out chapters shorter minor character development this could have been an excellent tale Sadly there were too many sub plots that were distracting from the main story hence the reason that if the book was longer the sub plots fleshed out then a decent book would have been upgraded to great3 stars 6510 not Moore's best work but doesn't detract from her other works

I liked it Twins family issues pent up lust criminals murder un returned love jealously the only thing that bothers me with these 'romance novels' is the lack of communication seeing something then running with your own conclusions and just over thinking it Just ask a frigging uestions alreadywe're married but does she love me? did that look in his eye mean he now has feelings for me blah blah blah
