Midnight ConfessionsRobyn CarrMIDNIGHT CONFESSIONS is book 105 in the Virgin River series I started this series years ago and I'm on a mission to finish it up this year It sure was nice to visit my old friends in Virgin River MIDNIGHT CONFESSIONS is a uick story but it sure does pack a punch Sunny Archer is visiting Virgin River for the holidays She was left at the alter and is licking her wounds She really could care less about the holidays and that is the feeling she projects while sitting in Jack's Bar on New Years Eve In walks Drew Foley also visiting for the holidays and he can't take his eyes off of her Oh people hang on tight Poor Drew is in for the ride of his life Oh let me tell you Drew is going to definitely give you all the feels That's all I'm sayinganyway after some time things between Sunny and Drew calm down after she explains to him what her past was like Drew is horrified that Sunny suffered the way she did But it's also very sweet and I'm really happy Sunny opened up to Drew and explained why she is the way she is She is controlling and uptight and Drew doesn't think he stands a chance Hang on people MIDNIGHT CONFESSIONS is a fun and crazy ride MIDNIGHT CONFESSIONS is a uick read that You can easily read in one sitting and love every minute of it If you've never read the Virgin River series you could easily start with this heart warming story But be prepared to go back and read the whole series It's just that good The only problem I have with this series besides the fact that Robyn Carr is finished writing it is that I am always left with wishing Virgin River was a real place I would pack my bags in a New York minute and move there MIDNIGHT CONFESSIONS had me neglecting my household duties but I didn't care I was worried about what was going to happen to all of these wonderful people I did not want to put this beautiful and fun story down I also got to meet a few new members from Virgin River as we do with each and every book I also love how you get to check in with the other couples from the previous books Can't wait for the TV series to hit Netflix

Listened via Audible Escape to a duet of this book and Under the Christmas Tree This one was titled Midnight Kiss which I believe is also labeled as Midnight Confession confusing I knowAudiobook Narrator Therese PlummerAs always an excellent job I’d listen to her read the phone bookThese were both cute sweet and fun with just a touch of angst I definitely liked Under the Christmas Tree since it felt rounded and well developed But both are great listens for the holidaysDual POVSafe view spoilerno owom drama; h not a virgin; H not a manwhore hide spoiler

Learning to Move OnMoving on when you feel so broken can be one of the hardest things a person can do We have to learn from our mistakes and accept that we can be better people and move on to a better life We learn to realize that sometimes things aren’t meant to be This is the theme throughout Robyn Carr’s novella Midnight ConfessionsPlotSunny and Drew have both been through pretty rough breakups in the past year Both intended on spending the rest of their lives with their partners and have been spending the past few months trying to figure out exactly where things went wrong When they meet at the New Year’s Eve party in small town Virgin River it seems like they would be a good fit However when Drew approaches Sunny it’s clear that she’s not uite ready to move on from the man who left her at the altar exactly a year ago Drew doesn’t give up so easily though Smitten by Sunny he works to get her to open up and try to take on a new outlook as the midnight hour approaches A new life for a new yearCharactersSunny and Drew are so rounded and down to earth in this story They have no problem admitting that they are flawed but know that they each have something to offer in a relationship On top of that they are both so driven by their passions and are respectful of each other They make the sweetest pair as they discover about each other throughout the story Neither sees the other as perfect but also know that that isn’t important because nobody isReviewer’s ThoughtsThis was a great New Year’s story You could really feel the atmosphere of the approaching new year Resolutions were being made laughter and reminiscing was occurring and it was just overall a very joyful story The story only spans a single night but it had a great pace The story unfolded with flashbacks that propelled the story forwards As the two main characters confessed their issues with the past year to each other they both began discovering things they’d never seen before It was so great how supportive they were of each other throughout this time I only have one ualm about this story – and it occurred within the last couple of chapters I felt like Sunny’s self revelations unfolded way too suddenly One minute she was of one opinion about her wedding day and the next she was saying the exact opposite It was just way too sudden with no real backing to the realization Other than this though I felt this was an amazing story The characters weren’t confessing their love for each other by the end of the night but they were open to trying something new and seeing where the new year took them It was sweet and ended beautifully I recommend this story for anyone looking for a uick sweet well written holiday romance In the end I give this story 4 out of 5 stars

Last year at the same date Sunny got left at the altar by the groom For this New Year's Eve she doesn't feel like celebrating and she's still sulking about what happened but her uncle and his girlfriend convince her to go with them to Jack's bar where a charismatic and easygoing man will mess with her plan to stay away from men What a pleasant suprise this novella was I'm no stranger to the sweet town and its people that is Virgin River but at the beginning I thought that the heroine's bitchy attitude would ruin the romance But once we get the whole story about her ex and that she admit she was rude and apologized for it to the hero I was understanding of her reaction Oh and how I loved Drew I didn't expect him to be that amazing So funny witty and charming He transformed Sunny's bad memory about the New Year's Eve into a beautiful one After the man child she almost married it was great that Drew was so mature serious in his courtship and ready about sharing his life He was really perfect for Sunny My favorite scene is when Drew explain what he liked about being in a committed relationship and sharing space with someone I also liked Jack's idea about the resolutions for the New Year Originally I read this novella in the hope of seeing Jack and the others but even if their presence was brief and not all were present I had so much fun reading about Sunny and Drew getting to know each other and falling in love that I didn't care and I'm really happy with this short story

45 stars Less than 5 only because it is a novella and I didn't get to know the characters as well as I'd like to I love the sweetness of these stories Oh to be adored like the Virgin River men adore their women
