The Color Of A Christmas Miracle by Julianne MacLean is a heart wrenching story surrounding the topic of infertility When having a baby becomes the sole focus it drains everyone and cracks in relationships start to appearThe novel is about friendship and families support and kind hearts Both love and sadness radiate from the storyThere are the themes of hurt and forgiveness Forgiveness frees us from the bondage of bitterness consuming us from the inside out The effects of forgiveness can be far reachingSecond chances new beginnings and hope all feature within this beautiful novelWritten in the first person the reader 'feels' and 'understands' the highly charged emotions of the lead character We 'experience' the bumpy ride of life alongside the characterA heartfelt and gut wrenching readThis book is book twelve in the Color Of Heaven series but can be read as a stand alone It is also part of a box set called Christmas MiraclesI received this book for free A favourable review was not reuired and all views expressed are my own

As always keep some tissues close byThis was just what the doctor ordered for me today This was a bit shorter I believe than the other books in the series and probably a bit predictable but still a great spiritually purging story I found this series as an deal and have since read every book They all share common themes the unpredictability and harshness of life but also the magical way in which that same life constructs itself to set you on the right path These are stories with sadness but also of hope and faith; that everything happens for a reason and that no matter how sharp the pain in the end it was just what had to happen

Apparently Christmas themed books all fall into the same category as Hallmark Christmas movies cheesy predictable with a heavy dose of drama and the mandatory happy ending If that's your thing this is probably a book for you Otherwise I'd suggest moving on The storyline was sad but it was also predictable Claire Radcliffe had a perfect life perfect husband perfect everything but was unable to have children The pressure of her infertility was too much for her husband who fell head over heels into the neighbor's arms He ran away with her and naturally Claire and her neighbor's ex husband also fell in love The bigger issue I had though was Claire's absolute perfection Her only flaw was her inability to have children Her self sacrificial and almost martyral attitude was dare I say obnoxious? I mean she gave 2million to the child of her former husband and former best friend because he deserved it Of course all her kindness paid off she ended up marrying her neighbor and going on to have a perfect child In retrospect it was less of a Christmas movie and cheesy than anything else While it acknowledge the pain of infertility I felt it glossed it over in favor of the drama between Claire and the other characters In the end she wasn't infertile at all and she got her miracle baby a fact which felt just too perfect and made her whole life a complete fairy tale25 stars

The Color of a Christmas Miracle by Julianne MacLean Well I've said it before and I'll say it again Ms MacLean is one heck of writer and once again captured my heart and soul with this one Throughout my heart filled with joy and then cried in pain We follow Claire's journey in this story I'll be honest there were a few times I didn't care for Claire as I thought she came across a bit selfish yet it was also understandable However as time passes and Claire lives through her ups and downs I really just wanted to reach through the pages and offer her a hug The writing style of Ms MacLean keeps the reader engaged and guessing at times I couldn't put the book down until I knew what the outcome was or else I'd never be able to concentrate on other tasks When I review a story I decide on the star rating based on my feelings during and after the read Well Ms MacLean deserves this 5 star rating as this story hasn't left my heart or mind since finished It is filled with love sadness happiness and several twists and turns I didn't see coming Thank you Ms MacLean for another delightful read I cannot wait for the next received copy from the author for an honest review

All of Julianne MacLean's Color books explore human emotions and life experiences From sudden deaths to unexpected births; from tragic circumstances to miracles these are the stories she tells and she tells them well In Color of a Christmas Miracle she introduces us to a woman named Claire who desires the perfect life handsome husband beautiful home and children to fill it But life doesn't always go the way we plan So as not to reveal the story's twists and turns Claire learns that in life it's better to forgive then harbor bitterness and she finds there is grace and a renewal of life when she least expects it I believe in miracles and I think Ms MacLean does too I highly recommend this book but beware You might need a kleenex or two I received an ARC of this book for a fair review
