Olympian Sanya Richards Ross's story is an inspiring one of perseverance and dedication to developing her God given gifts in running Split into four main sections of her training plan and life plan push pace position and poise we follow her journey from beginning to race at age seven in Jamaica to her Olympic experiences for Team USAThis book is easy to read and accessible for a range of ages It's written mainly to middle grade and young adult readers and is a fast read The chapters are short allowing readers to pick up the book freuently even if they only have a few minutes to read at a time Each chapter contains a sidebox with an extra story or anecdote and each ends with a summary thought connecting Sanya's life experiences to her faith While the language itself can easily be read by upper elementary students middle schoolers might benefit a bit from the discussion of dedication to craft and life planningMuch of the faith tie ins and life lessons are simple but a few in particular stuck out to me particularly in Sanya's realization that she would transition into another phase of life beyond Olympic running as well as the benefits of her continued honesty and support from her family throughout her life Disclosure I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via the BookLook program All opinions expressed are my own and this is my honest review

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review from NetGalleyRun With Me is the autobiography of Jamaican American sprinter Sanya Richards Ross While it it is intended for a younger audience 8 12 I still found the book to be captivating and thorough I greatly enjoyed reading this book and exploring Sanya's journey I was drawn to the book as I was a sprinter mainly 100m growing up and have just started to get into jogging Sanya's book had many good points on motivation caring for yourself pursuing goals the importance of family and knowing what is important to oneself She does also focus uite heavily on faith and religion each chapter start has a bible verse and she refers to it freuently throughout the book There's nothing wrong with that it was just unexpected I started reading it thinking it would be a casual read maybe have some insights for a newer runner What I didn't expect is how I would get so drawn into her life it was really a great easy read

An autobiography of Olympic 400 meter champion Sanya Richards Ross Sanya shares her life story from her early childhood to the present focusing on sports highlights but also sharing other important life moments and incorporating lessons on how things she's learned in sports can have parallels in life as well especially living as a ChristianI really want to read the adult version of her autobiography because this felt like it was pared down to be just the basics You get all the important moments in her life and how she developed as an athlete but there aren't a lot of details Now that just may be her writing style since she does mention that her memories aren't super detailed except for track meets Her little bits of advice are solid and I can see teens benefiting a lot by following them This was a great read I tore through it which seems fitting and came away inspired by her story and her comments Highly recommended and not just to track fansNotes on content No language issues No sexual content No violence
