RATING 35e ARC provided by Edelweiss in exchange for an honest reviewMackenzie and Nolan know that in a few short months everything will change as they head off to different colleges Determined to make the most of the time they still have left they come up with a list of things they want to do together before graduation But as they make their way through it Mackenzie can’t help feeling that she’s left the most important thing off the list telling Nolan how she feels But when confessing her love could jeopardize the incredible relationship they already have is honesty really the best policy? This is a sweet story about love and friendship It's not the best contemporary in the world not even close honestly but I enjoyed it I think it would've been better if there had been action Not much happens except Mackenzie and Nolan hanging out while trying to navigate their feelings which was entertaining but at the same time it makes the book forgettable I would recommend it if you're looking for a uick cute read This is exactly that

As a T1D myself I was pleased to follow the REALISTIC story of a young woman with the same medical condition While this is definitely a romance think friends to lovers but on a teen scale I have to admit that the T1 moments were the most engaging for me Sarah did such a lovely job of weaving Mackenzie's everyday medical concerns with her everyday life It was refreshing

I am such trash for these friends to books and White wrote one which I am adding to my favorites list I think I wore some sort of sappy grin the entire time I read this book I loved it so much I am going to get corny and list the ways1 The friendship between Mackenzie and Nolan was beautiful They were neighbors and life long friends Not only were they friends but their parents were friends like the kind of friends you go on vacation with friends I was so enad with this whole big happy family vibe 2 Mackenzie had type 1 diabetes and I thought White did a fine job illustrating her struggles and concerns for us I shared Zie's frustrations and probably loved Nolan even because of how educated his was about Mackenzie's disease 3 Seriously The unreuited love thing made me shed some tears I got really emotional when Zie had to watch Nolan with other girls The fact that I ached so much for her made me think that the single POV was a sort of brilliant choice Since we were only in Mackenzie's head we had no idea what Nolan was thinking or feeling unless he told Zie and that kept the tension high for me 4 These lists are mentioned over the course of the book and I was sort of sad that we only got to see three of them because the ones I saw were so fun and wonderful I love love LOVED the whole relive old memories and make new ones list It was only five items but it was a fantastic way for them to revisit some special moments and make a few new ones before they went their separate ways And that last list happy tears5 I read lots of books with romance but this here this was a full fledged romance Romances are my thing and this one was so sweet and adorable and wonderful I was so glad I got to be a part of this little love story I have a tendency to rate a book based on how they made me feel and this one left me filled to the brim with happiness It was fun sweet delightful touching and a whole lot of other warm and fuzzy type adjectives I adored these two so much and would love to revisit them in college ARC provided in exchange for an honest review BLOG | INSTAGRAM |TWITTER | BLOGLOVIN | FRIEND ME ON GOODREADS

I'd have to let him go so I could watch him be happy with someone else without hurting insideLet Me List the Ways by Sarah White is in true fashion a friends to lovers book It is a contemporary where the main character is also dealing with diabetes Her best friend Nolan has always been there since she could remember Since that day in 4th grade when she found out that she had diabetes It has been perfect for them and neither wants anything to changeLet Me List the Ways is predictable but sometimes with that it's like enjoying something you know has a good ending I like predictable sometimes because its just easy to pick upYou know you're with the right person when you want them to be happy even if what it takes to make them happy makes you unhappyI think this book is really important in educating people who do not have diabetes It lets us step into the shoes of Zie the main character who has been living with it since fourth grade The YA romance was really just a bonus

This was almost laughable but not in a good way These main characters who are supposedly best friends and nothing have to be the most oblivious doltish characters ever written It's so clear to the reader and all of the other characters that they are head over heels in love with each other and they spend 99% of the book playing this back and forth game of I should tell himbut I can't We're just friends Their friendship is also a bit peculiar they hold hands mount each other and call it tickling and Zie literally dresses Nolan when he has an injured shoulder Can anyone say sexual tension? Zie also has Type 1 Diabetes Others have mentioned the representation is spot on which is great but Nolan is always there to offer a piece of candy or piggyback ride and catches her when she falls It was almost to the point where she wouldn't have survived without him and he always got to be the hero swooping in to save the day After all this building and building and back and forth of will they or won't they the ending is over and neatly tied up within a matter of pages I couldn't tear myself away from this so there's that but then I was left feeling cheated and disappointed I'm torn over this because I know teens out there secretly harboring crushes on their friends will eat this up but I can't get over how awkward some of it was If you can forgive the characters for being mildly inappropriate this is a uick easy read that's mostly entertaining good and bad

As a type 1 diabetic I don’t see representation of myself in media very often or very accurately I picked up this book because the main character is diabetic too and the parts of the book that talked about it were accurate and well done I think this is an important book solely for that reason However I wasn’t crazy about the writing or the story itself even The writing was very simplistic and basic and there was a lot telling than showing I think the book could have been fleshed out a lot just by expanding short paragraphs that brushed over things into whole chapters The characters were also very 2 dimensional and there wasn’t really a difference between any of Mackenzie or Nolan’s friends and family members None of the characters felt like they had any real traits or personalities and the main characters barely had anything romantic between them besides pining for each other It wasn’t super clear to me WHY they even liked each other as than friends I was just told that they did This book is definitely something I would’ve enjoyed had I read it when I was younger and I think that it’s an important book for young diabetics even if it’s just to feel understood for a few pages

DNF at about Chapter 6 I think my problem with this book was two fold 1 I just finished reading another book with a similar plotline Girl likes guy who doesn't know she likes him and they've been best friends forever And 2 While this may have been a key element in the story later on there was too much focus on her diabetes that took away from the flow of the story I may try to come back to this one but am putting it aside for now

  10. Liz Liz says:

I lasted like 20 pages the writing is awful and nobody sounds like a real human One day I'll find a good book with a T1 diabetic MC ONE DAY
