The artwork is good, though too pastel for my taste Bernard struggles with being different and with overcoming a perceived lack on his part Not everything works out as he wanted and realizes that s okay It s a sweet story, and not too heavy handed with its message of learning to accept yourself.

Bird Hugs is a story of a bird whose wings are too long therefore, he can t fly This anomaly turns into an advantage for him and all the other animals around him I got this ebook as an First Reads selection and I m so glad I did.

This adorable book is about a bird who feels out of place because of his abnormally long wings He can t fly and all his friends are soon gone One day, he discovers he s good for something Big hugs Soon he makes new friends and helps them be happier with his hugs. This book has a simple premise but it s super sweet The artwork is really cute and it just makes the whole book His wings look like scarves to me but he even makes fun of that at one point in the book It s a quick children s book that all the young ones will definitely enjoy

So what if you can t fly This was a sweet book about a bird who couldn t fly because his wings were too long He had no bird friends and wondered what he was good for, because one thing we all long for is a purpose in life He finally found his calling after showing compassion to another sad animal This book can be used to help preschoolers learn about compassion and caring for others as well as understanding that what makes them seem different from others might be the very thing that is needed in their community.

Fun book, kindle formatting awkwardPortrait and Landscape differences create awkward reading experience on kindle You have to turn the tablet several times which is fine in regular print but awkward on tablet.
