Good in that it lists a ton of possible trips However it's organized strangely segment by segment so that if you wanted to plan a trip you'd have to flip all through the book like a choose your own adventure book But I'm not sure I would have a better way of doing it Also the descriptions don't seem to be all that helpful thus the 2 star rating The most helpful thing IMO are the elevation graphs for each trail

One can never own enough backpacking guides in my humble opinion The guide books the trips one can plan I've used this guide to help plan trips on the Eastern Sierra in the Hoover Wilderness above Twin Lakes and in the Ansel Adams Wilderness near Devil's Postpile
