Mike Wieringo one of my most favorite comic book artists ever died this weekend at the way too young age of 44 If you're a fan of the man's work or would like to discover it for the first time this is a great place to start It has a great in depth interview conducted by his friend and freuent collaborator Todd Dezago that covers his life influences and career and is packed to the rafters with early artwork preliminary sketches pencilled pages from various books and some great finished pieces some in full color The book was intended as a celebration of Mike's previous work in the hopes of whetting our appetites for everything yet to come but now it's a fitting tribute to an artist who still had so much to contribute to the comics industry
